The Society for Case Research, in a telephone conference call meeting of its Board of Directors on June 2, 2003, voted to establish two special service awards: (1) the Philip C. Fisher Distinguished Service Award for exemplary service to the Society, and (2) the Linda L. Goulet Outstanding Reviewer Award. The two awards are conferred on alternate years at the SCR-MBAA Annual Meeting in Chicago. The first distinguished service and outstanding reviewer awards were presented to their namesakes at the Summer Workshop in 2003 at the University of Southern Indiana.
The service award recipient is decided upon by the Board of Directors from among nominations solicited by the President. Award recipients must have served in at least two of the following positions: at-large board member, journal editor, Vice President-Program, Vice President-Summer Workshop, President. The award consists of an engraved clock.
The reviewer award, available to reviewers of any of the Society's three journals, is conferred on the recommendation of the editor of the Business Case Journal acting in concert with the editors of Annual Advances in Business Cases and the Journal of Critical Incidents. The award consists of an engraved plaque.
